Karl Thompson- Co-Founder & Director
After gaining a first class honours degree at university, Karl started his investment career with J.M Finn & Co. Karl later set up and ran the high net worth private client desk at Mint/BGC. In 2012 Karl co-founded Peregrine & Black Capital with Patrick Bullman. A fully FCA regulated broker offering bespoke stockbroking services to professional and institutional clients. Karl went on to co-found Peregrine & Black Investment management in 2015 offering Discretionary Investment Management services to individuals, corporates, trusts and charities. The Peregrine & Black group has offices in London and Bermuda and correspondingly regulated by the FCA and the BMA.
David Thomas- Co-Founder & Director
David started at a fledgling Commercial Foreign Exchange provider in 2003 which went on to become one of the markets largest non-bank foreign exchange providers. In this time David progressed from Corporate sales through to Corporate Dealing before moving into Partnerships and then ultimately moving over to become Director of Private Client services. David became one of the company’s partners in 2008 before it was eventually sold to private equity in 2015. David’s belief in the future of blockchain and its underlying technology was a key factor in wanting to establish one of the UK’s first deliverable cryptocurrency providers.
Tim Bullman- Director
Tim founded institutional agency broker Mint Partners in 2005 and in his role as CEO guided it from a start up to revenues of over $100 million per annum and offices in London, New York, Paris and Dubai. His previous roles included Head of Sovereign Debt at ICAP, MD Europe at Investor Select Advisors fund of hedge fund group and Senior Managing Director at BGC Partners.
Patrick Bullman- Director
Patrick has over 15 years’ experience working in bond, equity and CFD markets as a broker at Eurobrokers, Tullet Prebon and Mint/BGC. Patrick co-founded Peregrine & Black Capital, a fully regulated broker offering bespoke stockbroking services to professional and institutional clients and latterly Peregrine & Black Investment Management where he heads up the operational and compliance functions within the group.
Grant Whitlock- Senior Trader
Grant graduated from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle in 2005 with an Economics BA (Hons). He worked for a private investment bank who were amongst the first people raising funds for early stage companies via private investors. After a successful 2 years as Business Development Manager and trader for a derivative firm, he was Sales Director for a boutique investment company in Mayfair which specialised in raising funds for UK companies. He has overseen millions of pounds of investments into SME’s and has a passion for building companies. Prior to becoming Senior Broker at GlobalBlock, he worked at Peregrine and Black, GlobalBlock sister company for 3 years.
Kazalay Kimmins- COO
Kazalay is GlobalBlock’s COO and brings with her a vast wealth of legal, compliance and operational knowledge, gained from Oil & Gas industry where she was Vice President of Legal Affairs for a large cap mining and exploratory company in London. Kazalay runs operations for the Cross Asset Volatility Strategy under Peregrine & Black Investment Management as well as being COO of Peregrine & Black FX, the foreign exchange deliverables arm of Peregrine & Black.
Michael Milner- Trader
Upon graduating from university, Mike became a published medical author after which he spent several years working as the International Business Development Manager for a medical company. Following this, he started working in the financial markets and ultimately, after seeing the opportunities that Blockchain technology presents, began working at GlobalBlock. Mike’s time is now split between assisting GlobalBlocks retail clients and the OTC desk.
Michael Watford- Head Crypto Analyst
Michael worked for three years as a Project Manager at a property development company before his passion for sport lead him to be involved in the undertaking and capital procurement of start up “Altitude Mask”, which lead to its initial seed stage investment and subsequent success within the athletic and football industries. Upon realising the potential for Blockchain, crypto’s and future platforms associated to these technologies, Michael fully submerged himself in the space, ultimately finishing the Blockchain Strategy Course at the University of Oxford alongside concentrated networking within the sector. Mikes interest, belief and understanding of this sector means he is perfectly placed to Head up our team of Analysts.
